This is an original pressing of the Beatles' 45 RPM record "I'll Cry Instead" b/w "I'm Happy Just To Dance With You" on Capitol Records (5234). The record is in excellent condition. The release is the Orange and Yellow Swirl without "Subsidiary" text - Pressed at the Los Angeles Plant. Released in 1964
"I'll Cry Instead" was written by (credited to ), and recorded by for their third studio album, (1964), a part-studio and part- album to their film (1964). In the United States, the song originally appeared in the US version of before it was released as a single backed with "" along with the US album .
Both and identified "I'll Cry Instead" as having been written entirely by Lennon. Lennon wrote the song for inclusion in ' 1964 film, , intended for use in the film's "break out" and open field sequence. However, director disliked the song and replaced it in the film with "", so the band opted to wait on its recording.
This 45 was not re-pressed due to lack of sales, making these copies a little harder to acquire.
