Gate to Infinity is Earth & Fire's last great symphonic prog album. after this album they go "poppy".  The 16 minute opener is a lovely piece that drifts along very nicely. Yes there are two klonkers of songs, Smile and Green Park Station. Driftin' is an excellent song with a good punch. Earth & Fire are heading towards pop, yes, but hey it is 1977. Pop here is still with a lovely touch of prog. The album has some great use of synthesizers and some great SPACE OUT moments. Compliments to Jerney Kaagman for here beautiful voice.
