Recorded and pressed in 1973, Rebita's only album suffered limited release before fading to Angolan obscurity. Now deservedly unearthed by Analog Africa (but still on a highly limited press) it's an incredibly varied journey into Angola's cultural mindscape during the 70s. Miniscule whiffs of western dynamics can be found in the distant twangs of "Rumba Macieo" while the croons on "Dilangue" sound almost Cuban. Elsewhere we're blindsided by vibrant highlife ("Farra Na Madrugada") and emotionally enraptured by "Merengue Rebita". An extensive experience, this demands serious attention.
