Walker Brothers 1978 NITE FLIGHTS LP ORIGINAL GTO

Rare opportunity to acquire this original GTO copy of The Walker Brothers' NITE FLIGHTS. Chock full of unlikely experimental sounds, the item was purchased new in Liverpool's Rumbelows electrical store by Julian Cope, and thereafter kept safe in a thick polythene bag, ensuring that the gatefold sleeve remains very crisp and clean looking. However, all faces of the cover display some age fatigue and a couple of small spots where the indentations of biros can be seen when held up to the light. No bends or tears anywhere, though there is some crumple on the rear sleeve. There is also some ring wear on the outer sleeve that is worst at the bottom centre front of the sleeve (see photos).

Both sides have just been played through and sound very good. However, here is the detailed report: Side One's opening track 'Shutout' begins with one pop, thereafter being clean until the fade, at which point there is one more pop. Track 2 'Fat Mama Kick' also begins with one pop, then another 30 seconds later. The track thereafter is clean except for two more small pops appear over the next two minutes or so. The title track (track 3) is clean all the way through save from a couple of seconds of mild crackle on the long fade. Track 4 is Scott's 'The Electrician' which has a very quiet opening few minutes. Luckily – mercifully – this intro is still entirely free of crackles and pops, as is the rest of the song until the outro at which a couple of very minor pops were detected. The final track on side one ('The Death of Romance') exhibits one single pop midway through. Side two opens with 'Den Haague', which exhibits minor crackles throughout, though very minor. 'Rhythms of Visions' is entirely clean, while 'Disciples of Death' exhibits one single pop. 'Fury and the Fire' exhibits two minor pops, each random occurrances midway through the song. The final song 'Child of Flames' is entirely clean. Many thanks for looking.
