1988's They Live is still regarded as one of Carpenter and Howarth's most iconic films and it's surely something to do with the soundtrack! While it's often described as electronic blues, there's a whole spectrum of styles and influences contained within it. "Transient Hotel", for example, is a weird and wonderful cocktail of psych, blues, acoustic guitar an odd electronic frequencies. To be honest, the record should be owned simply for its singularity among Hollywood's original scores. Another recommended release from the Death Waltz crew!
