"Over the Rainbow" by Judy Garland, from the 1939 M-G-M film "The Wizard of Oz." This is the studio recording of the song, not from the soundtrack, which was never issued on a 78, however, this is the very first time the song had been recorded. Flip side is Garland singing "The Jitterbug," a song deleted from the motion picture. None of the other cast members (Ray Bolger, Jack Haley, Bert Lahr) are on that side; their characters' voices were supplied by members of the Ken Darby Singers. Recorded July 28, 1939 and issued on Decca 2672. Condition is V+. "Rainbow" side has some blemishes that do not affect playing. Minor surface noise typical of Decca recordings from this time period. Some scuffs and light scratches. Plays fine. Ring wear on "Jitterbug" label. Comes with original Decca paper sleeve, just as it was sold 75 years ago. No cracks, chips or dings. Domestic shipping is via USPS Media Mail ($5.00)
