Woof! Pangaea serves up a second Hadal platter in the shape of Pob, a four tracker whose title may hint at some of Kevin McAuley's childhood viewing habits. It arrives with the Hessle Audio man enjoying a fine 2014 so far, having delivered an excellent mix in the Fabric Live canon as well as contributing to the ever more bulbous Livity Sound Remix project. Pob represents yet another fascinating insight into McAuley's continual sonic development and progression, with few other contemporaries likely to conjure up the offbeat, drunken swagger that permeates the wonderfully named "Mackerel" or indeed the contrast between delicate notes and gruff ragga chants that make up "Ivy".
