Many curious souls will probably be drawn to this record for the presence of a remix from Beautiful Swimmers but the DC pair's contribution in no way overshadows the original material from E.R. The production alias of Addis Ababa artist Endeguena Mulu, E.R. stands for Ethiopian Records and his Qen Sew EP is the latest compelling release from emergent DC label 1432 R. If you picked up on the pair of records involving Ethiopian artist Mikael Seifu released on 1432 R last year you will want to check this 12" too as Mulu seems equally proficient at fusing outside influences with traditional Ethiopian music. The results on the three original E.R. tracks will delight the left leaning selectors out there, whilst the Swimmers take on "Qen Sew" is a fine example of their humid and sticky style.
