The Beatles   "Please Please Me/Ask Me Why"

This is a US vinyl single from 1963 on Vee Jay 498.    This has the black label with rainbow colorband and VJ logo in brackets.       This was the very first Beatles single issued in America.        This is VJ 498.06 in Bruce spivor's book.       It comes in it's original company sleeve.

The matrix numbers are :  Side One :  machine stamped 'Audio Matric' , 'MR' in circle, hand etched : 63-2967  , triangle 46527.     Side Two :  machine stamped 'Audio Matrix',  'MR' in a circle,  hand etched 63-2968 ,  triangle 46527-X.

Condition :   Company sleeve : VG+  /  Record : VG-

The vinyl looks VG- and it plays VG.   It has lots of light hair lines all of the vinyl surface.      It's been played a lot, but it has not big scuffs or scratches.     There is static on both sides before the music starts, but then it plays great.     There are no pops, skips, or noises.     The labels have light ring wear, but no writing.      The company sleeve is VG+.

About Me :

I started collecting records in 1966.       I started selling in Goldmine in 1985.          I now sell records at all Northwest record conventions : Portland, Seattle, Tacoma, Eugene, Grants Pass, and Canby.     And at Crossroads Music in Portland, Oregon.     My records are from a no smoking and no pets home.

Packaging :

I take great care during packaging and do each one personally.      I use hand cut cardboard, which I get from a trucking company.   (It's so thick that you will save it and use it again.)      Each piece is 1/2 inch thick and together they are very stronge.       I always remove the record from the picture sleeve and tape them inside a clear plastic record sleeve.      All packages are marked in red : "Fragile Record" on both sides.

Postage :

You have to pay for the postage.    I pre-weigh each package and you pay the exact amount the post office charges.   There are no handling charges.       This record will weigh 6 ounces when ready to ship.  US winners can figure out your own postage costs for US First Class or Media Mail.    I will send it through Paypal and you will get an email with the tracking number.    Overseas winners will get it sent by First Class Mail International.          I will send your record as soon as you pay. (same day if before 2 PM and next day if after 2 PM, Monday thru Saturday)   I will combine postage if you win more than one record.    Please wait for my invoice for all of your winnings in one package.

Serious Bidders Only :

Serious bidders only.    If you bid you must be prepared to honor your bid.     I expect payment within three days, but will gladly wait five days, if you contact me.      I no longer accept bids from buyers that have more than two strikes against them.   I do not hold records to fill a box.
