Up for auction is a exceptionally scarce LP.
According to the jacket notes, at the time this record was issued, Patti and Al Taylor had been entertaining for 5 years, including the last 2 years living in Alaska and attending Alaska Methodist University. They had recently departed for Connecticut where Al was attending Yale Divinity School. This album was their attempt to reciprocate the love they had received from the peoples of Alaska.
There are additional jacket notes from Jeff Gilkinson (a member of the Dillards from 1976 to 1980 and still active in Nashville). Wilkinson is credited (bass, mouth harp, banjo, guitar) as is Doug Haywood (side-man for Jackson Browne and other notables).
Title: Alpha
Aleyeska Records, Anchorage. ARA 1870. Compatible Stereo
The record label also states that this record was "Produced for Alaskan of the Year Award".
This record is undated. It was likely issued between 1967 and 1978. It would not be earlier than 1967 because that was the first year that the "Alaskan of the Year" was awarded. It would not be later than 1978 because that was the year in which Alaska Methodist University was renamed as Alaska Pacific University.
Side 1: Winkin' Blinkin' and Nod; Nellie, Nellie; Neff's Jasses; Kneel at the Cross
Side 2: Alpha; Kingwood Manor; High Flyin' Bird; Dimensions of a Great Land (Power and Glory; Alaska's Flag)
