In Very Good Vinyl Condition
Very good vinyl condition of four classic albums from legendary
American, singer and songwriter Garland Jeffreys, who traversed
the musical genres of rock and roll, reggae, blues and soul.
The first album was his 1977 breakthrough LP ‘Ghost Writer’ with his
classic anthem ‘Wild In The Streets’ along with nine other tracks including
‘Rough and Ready’, ‘New York Skyline’, ‘Lift Me Up’ and ‘Spanish Town’.
The second album is the 1978 ‘One-Eyed Jack’ a brilliant record with guest
artist that include Dr. John, Steve Gadd, Phoebe Snow and Luther Vandross
and songs like ‘Reelin’, ‘Oh My Soul’, ‘Desperation Drive’ and a cover of
Bob Marley’s ‘No Woman No Cry’.
The third LP is the 1979 ‘American Boy And Girl’ that became an international
bestseller with the hit single ‘Matador’ as well as nine other tracks that include
‘City Kids’, ‘Shoot the Moonlight Out’, ‘Bring Back the Love’ and ‘Ship of Fools’.
The fourth selection is the 1980 ‘Escape Artist’ which contains his hit cover of
the 1966 ‘96 Tears’ by Question Mark and the Mysterians. Other tracks include
‘Modern Lovers’, ‘Graveyard Rock’, ‘Mystery Kids’ and ‘Innocent’ that has Jeffreys’
old friend Lou Reed singing background vocals. This LP has so many great guest
artist that I can only list a few, such as Big Youth, Nona Hendryx, David Johansen,
G.E. Smith, Adrian Belew and Roy Bittan to name a few.
Truly a terrific rare find of these 4 gems of a keepsake for this innovative influence artist.
Experience the music the way it was meant to be heard in all the warm tones of its analog quality stereophonic vinyl sound and not the inferior audio of MP3s.
