RECORD: VG+  Original U.S.A. Blu Note beaded rim copy with EAR VAN GELDER BNLP 4157 - A  / BNLP 4157 - B  engraved in the dead wax. NEW YORK USA AND ® in the both label. Scratches, scuffs and marks. There's a stain in both labels.

COVER: VG++ Original U.S.A. Blu Note 43 WEST 61ST ST. NEW YORK 23 cardboard jacket. The only two thing to highlight in this cover is a removed tape-track in the rear jacket at the top near the corner and insignificant 0,20 inch split in the bottom seam near the corner.  Otherwise it's a really beautiful cover. The spine is perfect. Seams are ok. NO ring-were. No stamps. No Stain. No writings. No Tape.

" Carried by its almost impossibly infectious eponymous opening track, The Sidewinder helped foreshadow the sounds of boogaloo and soul-jazz with its healthy R&B influence and Latin tinge. While the rest of the album retreats to a more conventional hard bop sound, 's compositions are forward-thinking and universally solid. Only 25 at the time of its release, was accomplished (and perhaps cocky) enough to speak of mentoring the great , who at 26 was just beginning to play dates with Blue Note after getting out of the military. makes a major contribution to the album, especially on "Totem Pole," where his solos showed off his singular style, threatening to upstage , who is also fairly impressive here. , , and are all in good form throughout the album as well, and the group works together seamlessly to create an album that crackles with energy while maintaining a stylish flow    "

For the purpose of our refund policy, no other deficiencies will be defined or acceptable as "defects": the scuffs, scratches and abrasions on the CD's or vinyl's surface, if any, are ALWAYS noted and described in our auctions to the best of our ability, and they are NOT considered to be defects.

We do not know how the purchased item will sound when played by the buyer. We can only make reasonable inference on the record's condition based on its visual appearance. The bidders should be cautioned that every bid carries a risk that the purchased item will underperform, or play worse than its visual grade may indicate. In addition, some play-grading standards are utterly subjective: one man's light, tolerable surface noise is another man's unbearable, degrading clatter. 

Our grading standards are not subject to dispute or debate, either during or after the auction. Bidders who have any doubts that our grading is up to their standards should either seek clarification from us while the auction is still in progress, or refrain from bidding altogether.
