Many Beatles LP’s are auctioned … but few of the prized MONO series.  Here find an original US pressing of "Beatles '65" in glorious MONO:

“Beatles '65”  (Capitol T 2228)      MONO

(black label w/ rainbow colorband)

Despite the title, this LP was released in December of 1964.  A favorite among those who enjoy the Beatles' gritty rock 'n' roll sound, exemplified by Lennon's wonderful full throated singing here.  This album is also noteworthy as it features their first use of intentional feedback, in the form of Lennon's guitar at the opening of "I Feel Fine".  Lennon spoke proudly of that guitar intro in the years that followed as "a first" in rock 'n' roll.

Vinyl:  VG    (play graded)

High gloss.

Surface scratches/scuffs are present.  Surface noise is audible between tracks and during portions of some songs.  This record is a great listen but the listening experience is compromised at times by these flaws.

Labels are clean and bright.

Spindle marks present but barely detectable.                 (see photos)

Jacket:  VG-

Front cover photo is overall clear and colorful but has flaws.  Light stains are present near top left and tape residue is apparent on left side.

Back cover is slightly stained at bottom right side.

Spine seam shows wear but no split.  Two inches of split on top seam; five inches of split on bottom seam.

Modest ring wear front and back.                 (see photos)

Includes original inner sleeve in excellent condition.

Great tunes on this LP ... in the original mono mixes, as they were meant to be heard !!!

My Profile / Policies:

Music is my passion.  I’ve been a collector for more than 50 years and have thousands of records in my personal collection, focused largely on 50’s and 60’s rock ‘n’ roll.  Recently retired, I look to downsize and sell select portions of my collection in hopes of financing future purchases of a few special pieces.

All records I offer are from my personal collection, each cleaned using my Nitty Gritty Record Cleaning Machine.

All are play graded (not just visually graded), employing Goldmine Price Guide standards.

As I take great care to accurately describe my items, I do not accept returns unless my item description is incorrect.

All records are packaged with the wax outside the jacket (to avoid seam split in transit), enclosed in a plastic sleeve and shipped in robust record mailer boxes via USPS Media Mail, tracking included.

Payment expected within 3 business days of auction closing.
