1985 Verve Label Reissue
The Velvet Underground and Nico
with the Andy Warhol Banana cover
In Very Good Vinyl Condition
Very good condition of a copy of the 1985 reissue from the Verve label
of The Velvet Underground and Nico album, often referred to as the
‘Banana Album’ designed by their mentor and producer Pop artist Andy Warhol.
Please note that the catalog number on the album jacket reads like the
original release, that’s because the original artwork was used in the reprint,
but the catalog number on the record label is V6/5008, and this is a cover
with the unpeelable banana art.
‘The Velvet Underground & Nico’ is the legendary bands debut album and
though it was a commercial failure upon release and was almost completely
ignored by critics at the time, the record has since become one of the most
influential and critically acclaimed rock albums in history, appearing at number
thirteen on Rolling Stone magazine’s list of the 500 Greatest Albums of All Time,
as well as being added to the 2006 National Recording Registry by the Library of
Congress In 1982. Musician Brian Eno famously stated that while The Velvet Underground & Nico
initially only sold 30,000 copies, “everyone who bought one of those 30,000 copies started
a band.
With eleven songs and every one a winner;
Side One
1. “Sunday Morning”
2. “I’m Waiting for the Man”
3. “Femme Fatale”
4. “Venus in Furs”
5. “Run Run Run”
6. “All Tomorrow’s Parties”
Side Two
7. “Heroin”
8. “There She Goes Again”
9. “I’ll Be Your Mirror”
10. “The Black Angel’s Death Song”
11. “European Son”
A truly great find of one of the greatest albums.
Experience the music the way it was meant to be heard in all the warm tones
of its analog quality stereophonic vinyl sound and not the inferior audio of MP3s.
