BEATLES 8 LP LOT *** COVERS ONLY ***
You’re bidding on 8 ORIGINAL ALBUM COVERS from the FAB FOUR. (Covers only. Records not included.) Some of these covers could be used to replace your not-so-good covers. Here’s what you get:
1) “INTRODUCING THE BEATLES” Vee Jay SR-1062 (Mono) You’re looking at nice looking copy of this 53 YEAR OLD ALBUM COVER. It appears to be authentic and NOT a counterfeit. Here are the particulars:
COVER: (VG) (PLEASE, PLEASE ME & ASK ME WHY.) The front cover looks great even with the water damage around the edges. The rear is a different story. (This cover has some warping from water damage. It is especially noticeable on the back.) The front would look so good framed. The image of the Beatles is super sharp and undamaged.
SEAMS: Top seam has a 1/2 inch split. Bottom seam has a 3 inch split. There is some cracking and staining on both seams.
SPINE: Text on the spine is crooked but sharp and clearly legible. The corners have been dinged.
2) “MEET THE BEATLES”” – Capitol T-2047 (Mono) You’re looking at a nice copy of this 52 YEAR OLD ICONIC ALBUM COVER. The back has a #5 and No George Martin Credit. Here are the particulars:
COVER: (VG) The front cover looks pretty good with only some slight ring wear just starting to show and some light scratches. There are some creases along the spine and a 1/2 tear at the bottom right. The back cover has some staining, creasing and two small ink circles. The previously mentioned 1/2 inch tear is also on this side at the bottom left.
SEAMS: The top seam is showing a little fraying. The bottom seam has missing or fraying paper nearly all the way across, but is only split 1/2 inch at the previously mentioned spot.
SPINE: The spine has those creases that are visible on the front, but is completely intact. The text is mostly visible except for small parts of the title and Catalog #.
3) “BEATLES VI”” – Capitol T-2358 (1965 Mono) You’re looking at a nice copy of a 51 YEAR OLD ALBUM COVER. Has “See label for correct playing order” on back. Here are the particulars:
COVER: (VG) The front cover looks really good with two creases along the spine one big corner bump at the top left. I put a 2 inch piece of acid free tape at the top center. – The back cover has some wear, as well as some staining around George’s head. There is a #3 next to the RIAA seal.
SEAMS: The top seam is showing a slight amount of fraying, but no splits. The bottom seam is also showing a slight amount of fraying along with a 1 inch split at the opening, and a 1/4 split at the spine. Both corners have been dinged.
SPINE: The spine had some missing paper and fraying on the bottom half, so I repaired the bottom 7 inches with my trusty acid-free tape.
4) “RUBBER SOUL”” – Capitol ST-2442 (1965 Stereo) You’re looking at a decent copy of a 51 YEAR OLD ALBUM COVER. Here are the particulars:
COVER: (GOOD) The front cover looks okay with extensive wear on the mostly dark cover slick. There is also some creasing along the opening. – The back cover looks a little better than the front. There is a #9 next to the RIAA seal.
SEAMS: Both seams show a tiny bit of fraying, but have no splits. Both corners have been dinged.
SPINE: The spine had some cracking and fraying on the bottom half, so I repaired it with the acid-free tape. The text is mostly there and legible. Both corners have been dinged and are missing some paper.
5) “YESTERDAY… AND TODAY”” – Capitol ST-2553 (1966 Stereo) You’re looking at a decent copy of a 50 YEAR OLD ALBUM COVER. (Not a BUTCHER COVER!!!) Here are the particulars:
COVER: (GOOD) The front cover looks fairly good with some wear around the edges and a few small creases. – The back cover has some ring wear and scuffing. There is #12 next to the RIAA seal.
SEAMS: Both seams have been taped in a few places. Both corners have been dinged.
SPINE: The text was mostly missing because of some splitting and fraying, so I taped the spine along its entire length with the acid-free tape.
6) “HEY JUDE (BEATLES AGAIN)”” – Apple SW 385 (1970 Stereo) You’re looking at a nice copy of a 46 YEAR OLD ALBUM COVER. Has Hey Jude on the spine. Here are the particulars:
COVER: (VG) The front cover looks very good with some wear around the edges and some light wear over the Beatles’ dark outfits. – The back cover has a little bit of ring wear and light wear along the edges. (This is a mostly dark album front and back, so even slight wear is going to show.) Both corners have been dinged.
SEAMS: The top seam has splits just starting at both ends. The bottom seam is wrinkled all the way across and is starting to split at the opening.
SPINE: The spine has a good amount of wrinkling, but the text is all there and legible. Both corners have been dinged.
7) “LET IT BE” – Apple AR 34001 (1970 – Stereo) You’re looking at a nice copy of a 46 YEAR OLD ALBUM COVER. Here are the particulars:
GATEFOLD COVER: (VG) Cover is real solid with the only splits being two 1/4 inch ones located at the top and bottom corners of the rear gate. There is a 3” section of acid free tape at the bottom center of the rear gate. The front cover has some ring wear as well as some flaking around the edges. (This is another mostly dark album front and back, so even slight wear is going to show.) Both corners have been dinged. –– The rear cover shows a little more ring wear than the front as well as some flaking around the edges. Both corners have been dinged.
INTERIOR GATEFOLD: Still looks great with just a little bit of wear. Also has that previously mentioned 3” section of tape.
SPINE: A great looking, flat gatefold spine with hardly a flaw except for the two dinged corners. All of its text sharp, well centered and perfectly legible.
8) “LIVE AT THE HOLLYWOOD BOWL” – Capitol SMAS-116382386 (1977 – Stereo) You’re looking at a great copy of a 39 YEAR OLD ALBUM COVER. This cover has the EMBOSSED TICKETS. Here are the particulars:
GATEFOLD COVER: (VG+) Cover is real solid with no sign of splitting or fraying on all four seems and little or no damage to the four corners. The front cover shows only the slightest hint of ring wear along with some very light graying along the edges. There is one small crease at the top and a couple of small dents at the bottom left corner. –– The rear cover shows only the slightest hint of ring wear and very little graying around the edges. There are a couple of light creases along the spine.
INTERIOR GATEFOLD: Still looks great with no sign of wear. There is some light brown staining at the two top outside corners.
SPINE: A nice gatefold spine with all of its text sharp and clearly legible. The bottom corner has some fraying.
