On offer here, is a wonderful example of this rare original UK release
Generally found as being well used, this whole package has been looked after and comes in exceptional condition throughout
*
The Vinyl
Visually: Stunning, deep gloss surfaces - some light, non sounding scuff/handling lines on side 1 - even less on side 2
Audio: Near silent run ins - the disc has been played and as such there is peak wear evident but the overall sound reproduction is very strong and enjoyable - the inevitable random dust pop - no repetitive clicks, skips or stalls - a great example which has been handled with care
*
The Labels
Exceptional condition - the 'Gold' text, usually faded and rubbed, is vibrant and clear - apart from a few surface lines, there are no obvious spindle trails, suggesting careful alignment
This copy carries the correct publishing credits for all Lennon/McCartney songs (sorry, McCartney/Lennon - I wonder who did that before John had it changed back :-o)
Dick James Music Co. published The Beatles second single, Please Please Me/Ask Me Why. Between that release and the release of this album, Dick James, Brian Epstein, John Lennon and Paul McCartney formed Northern Songs Ltd. but on the initial pressings of this LP, all new Lennon/McCartney songs were wrongly credited solely to Dick James Mus. Co. This issue displays the corrected credits shown on all subsequent pressings
*
The Cover
Original EJ Day made from the thickest card stock - almost impossible to find in this superb condition - notorious for disintegrating and sometimes missing top and bottom flipbacks, this example has remained fully intact - just a tiny section gone from the bottom right - the front panel is very smooth, with just a few light wrinkles - perfect spine - the unprotected back has survived well, with nothing more than general age toning/foxing
*
The Inner Sleeve
Genuine original made from thicker, quality paper and having a clear polythene liner - top condition - no damage or writing
*
