New Factory Sealed The Beatles in Mono 13 Cd Box Set Collection .
This box set lets you enjoy the Beatles as they were first heard on the radio and on vinyl in the 1960s, making it great for fans nostalgic for the original sound and those looking for a new experience of their favorite band.
Mono vs. Stereo SoundWarmth. Depth. Dimension. Though a listening experience can be hard to put into words, those are the descriptors typically applied to the Beatles’ early mono recordings. A dedicated fan base maintains that they’re superior to their remixed successors in stereo. But what’s the difference, anyway? Simply put, a mono recording collects each channel of sound—the vocals, the instrumentals—and pans them into a single track, as opposed to stereo sound’s multiple tracks and more expansive feel. The sonic result is analogous to black-and-white vs. color film: mono is more primitive, perhaps, but somehow also more inviting.
What’s IncludedThe Beatles recorded their first 10 albums in mono, all of which are included here, in addition to a two-disc set of mono singles. Finally, the 1965 stereo mixes of Help! and Rubber Soul join the mono versions on their respective CDs, useful for picking out the differences between the two.
The Look and FeelJust as these tracks re-create the sounds that were heard on radios and turntables in the ’60s, the albums come packaged in CD-size replicas of the original vinyl sleeves. All the original inserts, labels, and album artwork are retained.
