The Beatles "Introducing The Beatles"
This is a US vinyl pressing on Vee Jay VJLP 1062 from 1964. This was their first album on VJ Records. This is a Mono pressing. This plays the version two songs : "Please, Please Me" and "Ask Me Why".
THE ALBUM COVER IS UNUSUAL BECAUSE THE INSIDE COVER IS MADE OF WHITE PAPERBOARD. It is not brownish gray like ever other copy I have ever seen. The cover has 1/4 inch inside flaps at top and bottom. The correct song titles are printed on the back cover in two columns. The song title : "Please, Please Me" has a coma on the back cover. There are no break-downs in the printing on the song title : "A Taste Of Honey". There is printing on the left spine : "Vee Jay Introducing The Beatles Vee Jay". George's shadow is visible on the front cover on the right. In the Perry Cox Beatles guide this is VJ 1062 (2). MC1B.
The record has an all black label. "VJ" is above "Vee-Jay Records" in silver print. "Introducing the Beatles and The Beatles" is above the spindle hole. The sides are noted in all capitols : "SIDE 1 and SIDE 2". The trail off area is 15/16 of an inch wide. The matrix numbers are hand etched : Side 1 : (triangle) 6307 (scratched out MR in a circle) 63-3402. and Side 2 : (triangle) 6307 X (scratched out MR in a circle) 63-3403. It plays the correct version two songs. In the Perry Cox Beatles guide this is VJ 1062 (2). MR4A.
This is an original record in an original cover.
The songs are : I Saw Her Standing There, Misery, Anna, Chains, Boys, Ask Me Why, Please Please Me, Baby It's You, Do You Want To Know A Secret ?, A Taste Of Honey, There's A Place, and Twist And Shout.
Overall Condition is : Cover is VG- / Record is VG
The cover is VG- with no writing and no seam splits. There is light ring wear on the front cover. There is corner wear on the top left and bottom right corners. There is a bend on the top right corner. There is a little top seam wear and a lot of bottom seam wear. The vinyl looks VG and it plays VG. There are many light handling marks and some scuffs. It does play better than it looks. The labels are clean with lots of light spindle marks. The record comes in a plain white inner sleeve.
