Canadian composer, arranger, and songwriter Mort Garson was born in 1924 in New Brunswick, Canada. After graduating from the prestigious Juilliard School of music in the late 60's, Garson started his deep exploration and mastery of Moog synthesizers. Following his meeting with Robert Moog, Garson began creating soundscapes with the now legendary analog synth on his third album Electronic Hair Pieces LP in 1969. This LP: Mother's Earth Plantasia had arrived years later in 1976 demonstrating further explorations. The album is dedicated to the gestation of plants, with the liner notes mentioning "warm earth music for plants and the people who love them". This opus was apparently created to make your plants grow faster! Whether its the lush analogue symphony of "Plantasia" or the psychedelic 8-bit business of "Ode To An African Violet" or the deep and immersive ambience of "Rhapsody In Green" this album is a real gem.
