Cover EX, Vinyl VG.
All my records have been cleaned before test playing on a turntable so are both audibly and visually graded in line with Record Collector Grading System.
Original first UK stereo pressing of the motion picture soundtrack of ‘The Good, The Bad and The Ugly’ by Ennio Morricone, released in 1968 on the United Artists label, catalogue no. SULP 1197.
Laminated, flip back sleeve in Excellent condition. The vinyl is in Very Good condition with hairlines on both sides resulting in slightly audible surface noise and a few ticks but no repetitive scratches.
A note on surface noise - I’m led to believe this may differ depending on your deck, stylus, cartridge, amp and speaker combination - my testing set up is pretty unforgiving in regards to picking up surface noise but my main system is certainly much less so.
About Grading:
In the UK, the accepted record grading system is the Record Collector magazine guide. This is the guide I use when selling vinyl and is reproduced below. I do not sell anything graded below Very Good. For records which appear to fall between the accepted grades, + and - are also often added to the grading.
MINT: The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records advertised as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint.
EXCELLENT: The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and / or creasing.
VERY GOOD: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.
GOOD: The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discolouration, etc.
