Kupcake is the new sub label of Spazzoid Records out of New York City, which focuses on boogie, soul and funk from external artists. Its debut release features Australian boogie-soul duo Confection, with two extended 12" mixes by label boss James Reeno. On the A side, we have the Sydney based duo deliver the classic Salsoul/West End inspired vibe of "Let's Fall Back" (A Very Special Reeno mix) which is incredibly sexy indeed. On the flip, we've got the bittersweet deep disco ditty "I'll Be Around" (A Very Special Reeno mix) calling to mind the romantic sounds of early noughties Naked Music - not a bad thing at all.
