ABOUT THE RECORD Through the Storm, by Aretha Franklin, featured several guest performances including Elton John, James Brown, Whitney Houston, and Kenny G. With the hit title track - a duet with superstar Elton John - being the album's only Top 40 single. The song peaked at #16 on the Billboard Hot 100 (#17 R&B, #3 A/C). The album peaked at #55 on the Billboard 200 but reached #21 on the R&B Albums chart. It sold about 225,000 copies in the United States and was taken out of print shortly afterwards. The follow-up single, It Isn't, It Wasn't, It Ain't Never Gonna Be was a duet with Whitney Houston. The artwork for the album cover was done by Pop Art legend Peter Max.
