CONDITION DETAILS Track 5 is mis-credited as "Stranger" on label but is correct on inner sleeve. Vinyl plays nicely, except for brief light-clicks at the beginning of the first song (play-tested). Gate-fold cover looks great; a few creases near edges, light-scuffing (front/back/inner-gate). Inner sleeve is original (lyrics/photo). Spine is printed with only the catalog number, and shows wear. Minor shelf-wear along top/bottom-edge; some wear to corners. Opening is crisp with signs of light use. (Not a cut out.)

ABOUT THE RECORD Heartbeat City contains a total of five American Top 40 singles, two of which were top 10 (Drive and You Might Think reaching #3 and #7, respectively). A number of songs from the album gained significant radio and TV exposure, notably You Might Think, which had a memorable music video in heavy rotation on MTV in 1984 and 1985. Another hit single frequently seen on MTV was Magic, in which singer/songwriter Ric Ocasek walked on water—that is, the water in a swimming pool at a backyard barbecue party. The music video for Hello Again was directed by the legendary Andy Warhol, who also appeared onscreen.
Portions of our "About the Record" section are taken from information gathered from Wikipedia and AllMusic.
