EX++ WESTMINSTER WL 5108 BEETHOVEN SYMP #6 SCHERCHEN VSOO ORIG US 1952
** Early Stampers 1E/2B **
Red & Silver Label / Deep Groove / ED1 Mono Pressing / Boguslav Cover Art / Orig US 1952 ED1   Beethoven: Symphony No. 6 in F major, Op. 68 (The "Pastoral")        Hermann Scherchen, Conducting            Orchestra of the Vienna State Opera [VSOO]   Cover Art – Raphael Boguslav.  Program Notes - Peter Hugh Reed

Record Grading:   NM- LP is in very nice shape and still shows nice gloss.  Record has a VERY low play count (if ever played) and was well cared for by original owner, a now deceased audio engineer. The album played dead flat & quiet during all of the sections that I spot checked.  No scratches, and hardly any evidence of visual scuffing from taking in/out inner sleeve.  LP has been transferred into an anti-static, acid-free MoFi poly liners for shipping.  Early 1E/2B Stampers.
Jacket Grading:    EX+ Jacket is in very nice condition. No writing.  No tape.  No tears.  No split seams. No visible ring-wear.  Colors are still deep and rich with nice shine.  I have marked it down to EX+ due to some gentle wear/rounding of corners.  Also due to some crackling/rippling of the original laminate in certain areas of the cover.  This is most evident in edges along the jacket "mouth".  There is some evidence of aging on the back cover, namely some darker areas and general discoloration (as opposed to original stark white paper).  All very minor imperfections, especially given the age of the LP.  I have included close-up photos of all seams & corners to assist with bidding decisions.
Overall Grading:   EX++ A fantastic copy of this wonderful, and relatively rare, early 1950s record.  Over the years, The Pastoral has slowly become my favorite of LVB's Symphonies and this is one of my favorite performances/recordings.  I find all of Scherchen's work with the VSOO on early Westminster LPs to be consistently thrilling. My grading "dings" on this item are almost exclusively related to the outer jacket's condition.  Those concerns are quite minor cosmetic blemishes, but still worth calling out.

Shipping Policy:
All LPs are secured with bubble-wrap and carefully placed in proper mailers with specialized cardboard inserts for reinforcement. LPs will be shipped in their inner sleeve, stored outside of the record jacket to avoid damage in transit. Box sets are mailed with the LPs remaining inside, after placing thin sheets of packing paper or bubble-wrap inside to further reduce movement of contents.
I am happy to combine auction items to reduce your shipping costs.  However, if you want multiple items to mailed in one package DO NOT PAY until you are done bidding.
I mail purchased items very quickly, typically same day, but ONLY to the address specified in the original request.
** I WILL NEVER SHIP TO A LOCATION OTHER THAN THE ONE LISTED ON THE INVOICE **

Return Policy:
Please read my return policy carefully before bidding. It will minimize surprises and misunderstandings.
1.  My shipping costs are nonrefundable.  Return shipping costs are the buyers responsibility.
2.  My listings include high resolution, close-up photos taken under bright light. Please review them before making bidding decisions. I am happy to send additional photos upon request.
3.  Returns may be requested up to 30 days after item is delivered.  Refunds will be issued only after the returned item is in hand and confirmed to be in the same condition as pictured in the original listing. SEALED ITEMS MUST BE RETURNED SEALED. "NEVER PLAYED" RECORDS MUST BE RETURNED UN-PLAYED.
4.  When purchasing "never played" records, you may see remnants from the original packaging process on the LP.  My policy is to let you clean this off with your own equipment. Experienced collectors know that fine cardboard dust or bits of paper from the original sleeve are the most reliable evidence that a record has never been played.  For more information on this topic visit the websites of a trusted RCM manufacturer such as VPI, Record Doctor, Okki Nokki, or Nitty Gritty.
