Extremely rare Checker 767 Little Walter "Tonight With A Fool" / "Don't Have To Hunt No More" original 45 RPM in mint condition. Even though this record was listed in Chess Records recording discographies no copies were known to exist in the 50's. In the mid 1970's I found a few of these original Checker releases at Skippy White's record Shop in Boston from an early re-issue program that Chess apparently did in the 1960's. A friend of mine and I re-issued this 45 with a copy of the Checker maroon color web label as it would have been if it ever were released in the 50's, but there are only a few copies of this blue label Checker version and I have 2 of them! This is not a copy, this is an original 45 made by Chess Records. This is well documented on p.101 of Tony Glover's biography of Little Walter "Blues With A Feeling". "Don't Have To Hunt No More" is in fact an alternate version of "Off The Wall". To my knowledge these 2 songs have also been overlooked and omitted from Chess Records Little Walter re-issues over the years. Could Chess have since lost the master tapes to this rare 45? Tom Principato I've had someone question as to whether or not my info is correct---it is. See the last photo for the excerpt and the top paragraph from the Little Walter bio which substantiates my claim that this record was never issued in the 1950's and only as a part of a very limited re-issue program in the 60's. It was NEVER issued as a web Checker label release---only this 60's re-issue. My asking price is only a "make offer" starting point for negotiation. As is true with all rare and collectible items the value is only determined by what someone is willing to pay for it. I'm inviting anyone who is interested to make me an offer on this rare item. Thanks!
