NOTES ON GRADING

Overall condition grades:

Mint (M)

Still sealed records in original packaging / format - price stickers will be left alone

Near Mint (NM, or M-)

Near Mint I will rarely use

Items not sealed during production but cross sleeved and stored from new, original inner (no crease or handling) may have inner corner folded over - it's albeit as close as Mint be graded as mint - there will be notes in the description.

Excellent (EX)

Either never played, or evidently rarely played previously. Without groove wear - no significant scratches, possibly have slightest sleeve wear 

Won't need dusting or cleaning.

No bowing or warp

Audio will be sharp / clean

No spindle markings on the label and no pen mark

Edge lead in, lead through's and outruns will have no significant surface noise

Very Good Plus (VG+)

Very Good Plus grading will be as EX is above - with possible,

Marker pen on labels

Anything cleaned, or needing to be
Possibly light wear on lead edge, (from storage) 
12" 45's (never played) stored in die cut sleeves are usually graded as VG+ 

Very Good (VG)

Significant surface wear, may have a small clicks, likely to cause after a number of plays - long before there is any concerns over wearing into the groove - may look worse than they sound and always test played.

The music will drown away any consistent surface noise that may be heard in the track lead through's etc.

The record(s) may need, or have needed & had a clean

Good Plus (G+)

Surfaces will show wear, have slight scuffs, light scratches - audible beneath the music - esp. during the quieter sections of a track

No warp nor bowing, no needle skipping or sticking.

Label may have pen marks, discolouration, even be torn / or absent 

Evidence of spindle marking

Light groove wear

Good (G)

As G+ above with more scratches than sleeve wear can produce alone

may have groove wear 

Grades below Good will have defects fully described if they arise if advertised on eBay
