Record: Excellent. Super high sheen, with a few light surface marks. Ignore any dust seen in pictures as record(s) will be cleaned prior to dispatch. Played only a few times and some would class as better but I'll be safe. 

Sleeve: Very Good Outside - Inside Gatefold - Near Mint. The main defect to note is a small split at a corner of the outer & is clearly pictured. Some lesser damage to bottom left also but if you can live with some corner wear from storage... Inside is complete with the song sheet which has always been stored in the sleeve so near mint. Inside the artwork can be classed near mint also & looks superb.

• Due to a copyright infringement, some copies had the Superman hidden with a blue hype sticker. 

Note that I've never attempted to remove this blue sticker either as didn't know about the Superman thing.

• Although the official album title is "Illinois", the cover art reads "Sufjan Stevens invites you to: Come on feel the ILLINOISE"

RECORD COLLECTOR Grading System. UK
In order to assist everyone who buys and sells rare discs, Record Collector magazine has originated a set of standards for the condition of second-hand records.

MINT [M]: The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records advertised as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint.

EXCELLENT [EX]: The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.

VERY GOOD [VG]: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.

GOOD [G]: The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches.The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc.
