David Bowie 'The Rise And Fall Of Ziggy Stardust' LP

Rare and highly sought after 1st UK pressing with machine-stamped matrices BGBS0864 1E & BGBS0865 1E on 'thick' vinyl

The sleeve has the Robert Stace credit on the reverse and 'A Gem Production' credit without the lower Mainman credit on the reverse, in beautiful condition.

The first press 'glossy' labels & top lipped lyric inner sleeve have Titanic / Chrysalis music publishing credits.

RCA Victor Records SF 8287 ( LSP 4702 ) BGBS0864/5 in 1972

Vinyl grades visually VG with a few slight wispy hairlines/ signs of play. Vinyl retains a nice gloss

The cover grades VG with very light ringwear

The inner sleeve VG with some mild creasing, split at bottom , see pictures

The labels are clean and shiny EX with virtually no spindle marks.

Vinyl plays very well on my Dual deck. Side 1 intro and the quieter parts of Five Years there is a little crackle here and there, that does not detract from listening pleasure. There is some occasional light crackle between tracks, but generally speaking, the listening quality is excellent for this album .

Overall a superb copy of scarce 1st pressing! Not many first press 1E/1E copies are usually this clean

Some 1E /1E first pressings have fetched over £200 on eBay so this should be a good investment opportunity

Postage £3.95 UK

Mint (M)The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet. booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records marked as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint.

Excellent (EX)The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.

Very Good (VG)The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects is acceptable

Good (G)Te record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discolouration, etc

Fair (F)The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump. The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.

Poor (P)The record will not play properly due to scratched, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing

Bad (B)The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection-filler

CD’s and CASSETTESAs a general rule CD’s and Cassettes either play perfectly – in which case they are in Mint condition – or they don’t, in which case their value is minimal. Cassette tape is liable to deteriorate with age, even if it remains unplayed, so care should be taken when buying old tapes. CD’s are difficult to grade visually; they can look perfect but actually be faulty, while in other cases they may appear damaged but still play perfectly. Cassette and CD inlays and booklets should be graded in the same way as record covers and sleeves. In general, the plastic containers for cassettes and CDs can easily be replaces if they are broken or scratched, but card covers and digipaks are subject to the same wear as

P.S I ALWAYS PLAY TEST MY RECORDS, THIS IS IMPORTANT AS A LOT OF RECORDS LOOK PERFECT , BUT WHEN YOU PLAY THEM THERES SURFACE NOISE ETC, WHICH YOU CANT SEE, BUT ONLY HEAR.

Any questions, just feel free
