Ronnie James Dio joined the British metal pioneers Black Sabbath FORTY YEARS ago, in 1979. By 1980, the heavy metal masterpiece 'Heaven and Hell' hit us like a ton of bricks! Dio remained for another studio album ('Mob Rules'), and a live album ('Live Evil'). By the mid 80s, he had formed his own band, simply called Dio. Then rejoined Sabbath in the 90s for the album 'Dehumanizer'. Then left again, then rejoined in 2006, until his death in 2010, with the previous lineup of Ronnie James Dio, Vinny Appice (Carmine's younger brother), and original Sabbath members Tony Iommi and Geezer Butler. They called this group Heaven and Hell, after the album and song!

On May 16, 2010, RJD lost his battle with cancer. This man was truly one of the greatest hard rock and heavy metal singers and songwriters that has ever walked the earth! In memory of this amazing musician, and near the ninth anniversary of his death, we have for your consideration today, a special Dio triple shot! First up is a STILL SEALED and NEVER OPENED or PLAYED copy of the very first Dio album, titled 'Holy Diver'! Put out by the Back to Black record company in 2010. This will come in its ORIGINAL heavy PVC jacket, and a download card that may or may not be expired. (I'm not going to open this just to check on that! Lol)

Next up, you'll receive a REMASTERED copy of 'Holy Diver', on CD! So you don't have to play your picture disc, (though you can. The vinyl is remastered, and modern picture discs sound great)! Put out by Rock Candy, in 2005, this sounds awesome! It also adds a 2005 audio interview with Ronnie James Dio himself! Great liner notes on the back, as well. In really, really good condition, as the disc has only a couple of very light surface marks that I can see. Hardly noticeable, and nothing that will affect play, at all!

And going back to Dio album no. 2, from 1984's 'The Last in Line', we have a special, limited edition 7" picture disc record! 'The Last in Line' LP never had any proper picture disc release, but the single "Mystery" did, and included in this rockin' good deal is a copy of that 7" 45 RPM special picture disc! This is NOT a reissue like the 'Holy Diver' pic disc LP, but was made and released in 1985! Dio's mascot Murray is on the A side, intergrated into the logo, and Murray makes another appearance on the B side (with a live version of "Eat Your Heart Out". Vinyl looks great, with no scratches, gouges, or scuffs.

The Dio pic disc LP is pretty rare, as only a small number of these were made in the EU. When they do pop up, they usually go for big buck$! The 7" isn't as rare, but still limited in its original release. All three things are incredible collector's items to own, or to give as a gift to that special Dio fan in your life. Or to treat yourself, because you KNOW you're worth it!
