CONDITION DETAILS 200 gram. Import from Germany. Vinyl plays nicely (play-graded). Cover looks great; a couple creases near edges; very light-scuffing and surface impressions (front/back). Inner-sleeve is poly-lined paper. Spine is easy-to-read. Little shelf-wear along top/bottom-edge; minor wear to corners. Opening is crisp with signs of light use. (Not a cut-out.)

ABOUT THE RECORD The Concert Jazz Band is an album recorded by jazz saxophonist Gerry Mulligan featuring performances recorded in 1960. At a time when all of the important Verve recordings by Gerry Mulligan's Concert Jazz Band of 1960-63 are long out of print, this previously unissued concert performance helped to fill the gap. There are many exciting moments among selections, including hot versions of You Took Advantage of Me and Bweebida Bobbida; the ballads include My Funny Valentine. With the leader's baritone, trumpeter Conte Candoli, valve trombonist Bob Brookmeyer and tenor saxophonist Zoot Sims all getting plenty of solo space and drummer Mel Lewis driving the ensembles, the 14-piece big band is heard at its best.
