ABOUT THE RECORD Phonogetic, by Melanie, is her rare 1978 album featuring an amazing cast of world class musicians including Hugh McCracken (guitars), Richard Tee (piano, keyboards); Will Lee (bass), Chris Parker (drums), Reubens Bassini (percussion) and many others. Melanie is a singer/songwriter who began singing in the folk clubs of Greenwich Village in the mid 1960's, Melanie parlayed an almost child-like voice into one of the most original voices in pop music and rose to international fame after her performance at the legendary Woodstock festival.
