Hawkwind's 32nd studio album is a grandiose return to their space rock roots. "All Aboard The Skylark" is a compelling listen, recalling echoes of a decades old genre, whilst still sounding fresh and inspired (aside from the bizarre narratives about alien creatures attacking planets). Completely untethered, tracks dart from the sugary, melodic psychedelia of "Last Man On Earth", to the colossal, nine minute closer "The Fantasy Of Faldum", which plays out like a classic seventies space opera. Fifty years since their formation, Hawkwind are still masters of their universe.
