ABOUT THE RECORD Berlioz Requiem, conducted by Charles Munch, feature Op. 5 performed by the Boston Symphony Orchestra with tenor Lèopold Simoneau. Hector Berlioz composed this piece of work in 1837 and is is one of Berlioz's best-known works, with a tremendous orchestration of woodwind and brass instruments, including four antiphonal offstage brass ensembles. The work derives its text from the traditional Latin Requiem Mass.
