In Good Vinyl Condition
Good vinyl condition of a true treasure trove of four classic albums
by the legendary Barbra Streisand from the early 1970s.
The first selection is her groundbreaking twelfth studio album and
her first produced LP by Richard Perry the 1971 ‘Stoney End’ with
eleven tracks like “If You Could Read My Mind” (Gordon Lightfoot),
“No Easy Way Down” (Carole King, Gerry Goffin), and her smash
hit “Stoney End” (Laura Nyro).
The second album is her second release in 1971 ‘Barbra Joan Streisand’,
which is notable for including “I Mean to Shine”, the first recording of a song
written by the Steely Dan duo of Donald Fagen and Walter Becker. The album
also features production and backing work by members of the female band Fanny.
Some of the eleven songs included are “Beautiful” (Carole King), “Love” (John Lennon), and
the great “Medley: One Less Bell to Answer/A House Is Not a Home” (Burt Bacharach, Hal David).
The third LP is the rare 1972 ‘Live Concert at the Forum’ which was a fundraiser for
Senator George McGovern’s presidential campaign. Some of the live songs are “People”,
“On a Clear Day You Can See Forever” and “Sing”/”Happy Days Are Here Again”.
The last album is the 1973 ‘Barbra Streisand…and Other Musical Instruments’ an LP that
has become a cult classic with material on the album that was drawn from Streisand’s fifth
television special, which had aired earlier in the same year, on which Streisand had sung
a selection of her best-known tracks and other popular songs with unusual and eclectic
musical accompaniments. It was World Music before the term ever existed and with a
grand total of 31 tracks made up of many great and cleaver medleys.
Truly a great rare find of four terrific album by an amazing talent and icon.
Experience the production the way it was meant to be heard in all the
warm tones of its analog quality stereophonic vinyl sound and not the
inferior audio of MP3s.
