Here is a nice copy of Bessie Smith's "Gin House Blues" with Fletcher Henderson on piano and Buster Bailey on clarinet b/w "Me and My Gin". "Me and My Gin" has Charley Green on trombone and Porter Grainger on piano. Hot Jazz Club of America label (HC 77, RAV 158, 159). Grading old '78s is as much an art as a science--how much surface noise is in the original recording verses the record surface? I've played this through with no skips or jarring pops--nice record. I'd call that VG. No writing on label. Favorite lyric: "Any bootlegger is my friend".
