Jimmy Deuchar "Pub Crawlin'" 1957 Contemporary Records C 3529. This is an incredibly cool record. I played and studied the trumpet years ago and I guess Jimmy Deuchar must be the best bop player I never heard of before. Some research reveals that he was born in Scotland and had a great career in both Europe and the U.S. On this album, he just kills it, and is joined by a super band including the great Victor Feldman on piano. The sleeve is in really fine shape, with only the lightest scuff front and back, but has really big promo stamps on the front and back (see photos), still a Very Good plus (VG+) sleeve. Vinyl is visually perfect, even though the labels also have promo stamps on each side (I guess they weren't kidding). Playback is wonderful: the A side has one pop (dare you to find it) and the B side starts with some noise but then quiets down beautifully, an overall Excellent minus (EX-) record. Just cleaned with a VPI wet-vac system. I'll pay the shipping via USPS Media Mail.
