Buddy Rich "Buddy Rich Sings Johnny Mercer" 1956 Verve Records MG V-2009 mono. In the words of John McEnroe "You can't be serious!" Buddy Rich in 1956 before he figured out he was the greatest living drummer and didn't need to sing. But here's the thing. This is actually really good. Rich, at least at that young age, was a decent singer and had a real musical sense. And the band backing him up was great and the arrangements are super cool. Sleeve is in solid shape. The front is still shiny and good, but there is discoloration on the back (see photos). There's also light damage to the top third of the spine. Overall, still a strong Very Good (VG) sleeve. Vinyl is super nice, with only a couple of imperfections keeping it from one of my perfect scores: a bit of click in A4 and between B1 and B2, not obnoxious but clearly audible. The record has such a nice sound I can't help but still give it an Excellent minus (EX-). Just cleaned with a VPI wet-vac system. I'll pay the shipping via USPS Media Mail.
