ORCHESTRAL MANOEUVRES IN THE DARK "The Best Of OMD" LP
Virgin (A&M) SP 5186 (first 1988 US pressing)
This is the more RARE AUDIOPHILE PRESSING, manufactured with dark brown translucent vinyl (sometimes referred to as "audiophile" or "virgin vinyl"), which A&M used selectively in the 1980's. Some collectors claim this to be an unstickered Quiex II pressing. The translucent "audiophile" vinyl, not to be confused with the standard black vinyl, can be verified by holding the wax up to a bright light.
Compiles OMD's finest early work.
Matrix numbers in the dead wax read :
Side 1: SP-05186 A SH-1 1 triangle symbol 19651 1-2
Side 2: SP-05186 B SH-1 1 triangle symbol 19651-X 1-2
Outstanding sound quality on this audiophile pressing ... with impressive, wide dynamic range throughout.
Superb NM- wax plays "like new", flawed only by light superficial paper scuffs, visible under bright light, that have no impact on sound quality.
(Note: Wax will be delivered to the buyer in a professional poly inner sleeve to ensure no additional paper scuffs.)
Super high gloss remains.
Labels are clean, sharp and bright. Look "like new".
Nice, clean EX jacket.
Modest ring/rub wear visible.
Jacket front B&W photo and text are clear and sharp, rich and bright.
Nice high gloss remains.
Solid seams and spine, nearly flawless. No splits.
Spine print is crystal clear.
Includes original custom inner sleeve (with band member photos, past album jacket covers and credits), in EX condition.

My Profile / Policies:
Note: I've qualified for the "Top Rated Plus" seal from eBay, awarded to sellers who consistently deliver outstanding customer service.
Music is my passion. I’ve been a collector for more than 50 years and have thousands of records in my personal collection, focused largely on 50’s and 60’s rock ‘n’ roll. Recently retired, I look to downsize and sell select portions of my collection in hopes of financing future purchases of a few special pieces.
All records I offer are from my personal collection, each cleaned using my Spin Clean MKII machine.
Wax is play graded (not just visually graded), employing Goldmine Price Guide standards.
As I take great care to accurately describe my items, I do not accept returns unless my item description is incorrect.
All records are packaged with the wax outside the jacket (to avoid seam split in transit), enclosed in a plastic sleeve and shipped in robust record mailer boxes via USPS Media Mail, tracking included.
International customers pay shipping costs and duties per the eBay Global Shipping Program guidelines.
Payment expected within 2 business days of sale.
