DESCRIPTION
Dick Hyman / Mary Mayo - “Moon Gas” MGM Records SE-4119 (Stereo) from 1963. Hard To Find Original  Pressing of this great Electronic Space Age Bachelor Pad Exotica / Jazz / Pop album from the the legendary Dick Hyman with Mary Mayo on Spacey Vocals. A great Band featuring Vinnie Bell, Bob Rosengarden, Osie Johnson, Milt Hinton, Joe Benjamin and Nick Tagg along with Hyman. All sorts of crazy Electronic Instruments and Effects like Lowrey Organ, Martinot, Ondioline, Oscillators plus Bongos and Percussion and lots of Echos and such. Produced by Creed Taylor. A really Groovy Classic of the genre! NO Cutouts!

CONDITION

The cover is in good solid condition. There is some basic ring and edge shelf wear. There is some “age spotting” / foxing / light staining mostly along the spine and left corner area of the front and the opening edge on the back. Not exactly sure what it is and it looks way worse in the pics than real life where it just looks a bit dirty. Still very solid with no splits, writing, tears, cutouts, etc. and should rate VG. The vinyl is in clean Glossy condition looking pretty lightly played. If you look closely you can spot some scuffs and light hairlines - no actual scratches - ie something that can be felt with a fingernail. A great player, mostly VG+ to EX with spots of light groove noise, a few soft tics and one spot with 4-5 repeated soft tics. Might well be improved with a better cleaning than I can give with my Discwasher brush. The labels show a few light spindle trails but are otherwise Near Mint.

Records are graded to the best of my ability to Goldmine Visual standards. If you are not familiar with this grading system (or even if you think you are!), please check it out before bidding I have summarized the important (i.e. I think everyone knows what Mint means) points below in Goldmine's words:
Very Good Plus (VG+): Record surfaces may show some slight signs of wear and may have slight scuffs or very light scratches that don't affect one's listening experience. Slight warps that do not affect the sound are OK.
Very Good (VG): Surface noise will be evident upon playing,... Groove wear will start to be noticeable, as will light scratches (deep enough to feel with a fingernail) that will affect the sound.
I stand by my grades but would like us to be on the same page so no problems arise. I have been selling Vintage Vinyl for over twenty years on the net and I can count the returns I've had on one hand so I believe my grading is fair and accurate. One important note, I try to grade to these Goldmine guides as best as I can understand and apply them. This gives us both a written standard to go by rather than having to guess. But.... it also means that I don't issue refunds over differences of opinion in grading i.e. "That's not MY idea of a VG record!" - I don't know what your standards are and, as such, can't grade to them. I guarantee that items I sell will meet my description, nothing more or less!
