ABOUT THE RECORD Elton John's Greatest Hits Volume III 1979-1987 contains some of his biggest hits released from 1979 through 1986. About one third of the contents of this collection comes from the 1983 album Too Low for Zero, the album that had received the strongest critical and commercial response of the era. More recent songs such as Wrap Her Up and Heartache All Over the World were chosen to represent Elton's most current work at the time. The earliest songs included are 1979's Mama Can't Buy You Love (actually recorded in 1977) and 1980's Little Jeannie. The collection has been certified 2x platinum by the RIAA.
Portions of our "About the Record" section are taken from information gathered from Wikipedia and AllMusic.
