This is the self titled debut vinyl album by The Velvet Underground and Nico. It was recorded in 1966 while the band were featured on Andy Warhol's Exploding Plastic Inevitable Tour. It was released on Verve Records, catalog number V6-5008. This vinyl album is an original first pressing and was released in 1967. It includes the tracks:
All Tomorrow's Parties
I'll Be Your Mirror
Sunday Morning
And many more!
This issue is a first state, first pressing stereo copy, because it contains an un-airbrushed photo of actor Eric Emerson projected upside down on the back wall behind the band on the back cover. The actor threatened to sue over the unauthorized use of his image. Later issues airbrushed or pasted a large black sticker over the actor's image.
The front of the album contains the original banana sticker, only slightly peeled away, but mostly still affixed to the cover!
The record itself is in Very Good (VG) condition with some visible marks but no scratches and has no affect to how the record plays. There is a bit of crackling that is heard at times, only moreso during the quieter parts of the record. The cover is also in Very Good (VG) condition with some wear and a bit of clear tape along the top corner and bottom edges of the back of the gatefold. This is a highly collectible and sought after album. Don't miss it!
