Desirable, private press rare groove by the obscure guitarist and singer from Tallulah, Louisiana. Features 3 raw funk themes, mixing up his brand of psychedelic soul and jazz with the blues. Trax like the strung-out "Ain't It Funky Y'all" / "Political Rag" and instrumental version of "Ain't It Funky Y'all" should blow you all away ;) Other trax like "Get Up Soul Brother " is gritty and soulful. The sweet Northern soul style vocal delivery of "Sexy Baby" is also superb. We also recorded the slow jam "Don't Play This Song" for the electric blues lover. At times, Energy Crisis! reminds us of the Curtis Mayfield band at their funkiest. Great for DJs. Heavy drums etc. Disc cut loud with slightly crude and primitive production sound. Striking artwork sleeve

Our record grading: SEALED / M- / VG++ / VG+ / VG
RECORD - shiny, strong VG++ (actually better) regardless of a few faint hairlines or faint light scuffs / disc cut loud with slightly crude and primitive production sound / light background noises (due to the actual pressing) / a few soft ticks in places
SLEEVE - original, thick card sleeve is strong VG++ (actually better) with light wear / mostly just the ding creasing above the bottom left corner area / sharp looking overall and very clean / a hint of corner and edge wear in places (just the odd tiny dent) / some paper creasing to back sleeve

LABEL - bright looking with some natural age discoloration / some faint marks to spindle area / a few old dirt marks from storage

After a 2 year gap, Pourquoi Moi Vintage is back :)
