Dave Mason was a co-founder of the legendary 1960's supergroup Traffic along with Steve Winwood and Jim Capaldi. This 1970 album is Mason's solo debut and it was a huge hit. It features guest appearances by Leon Russell, Jim Keltner, Carl Radle, Delaney & Bonnie, Jim Gordon, Rita Coolidge, Jim Capaldi, and John Barbata. It was released on Blue Thumb Records (BST-19) and was co-produced by Tommy LiPuma.
The unique packaging helps make this album stand the test of time. It has a special tri-fold, die-cut jacket that was also designed as a wall hanger (note the hole in the top hat). The vinyl fit in a pocket inside and originally came without an inner sleeve. I've added a round bottom inner sleeve to protect the record. This album was pressed with multi-color Splash vinyl. Only about 30% of the first 1970 pressing was produced with this "spin art" or "marbled" vinyl. The rest were done on ordinary black vinyl.
