DESCRIPTION

Original Cast - “The Rankin / Bass Production Of The Hobbit” Disneyland Storyteller Records 3819 (Mono) from 1977. Hard to find Fantasy / Fairy Tale Animation Original Soundtrack album from the Rankin / Bass production of J.R.R. Tolkien’s “The Hobbit". A great Cast including Orson Bean, Richard Boone, Hans Conried, John Huston, Otto Preminger, Cyril Ritchard, Paul Frees, Don Messick and more! Music Compose, Arranged and Conducted by Maury Laws and includes Glenn Yarbrough singing “The Greatest Adventure”. In a Unipak (inward opening) Gatefold Cover with a Bound-In Full Color 12 Page Booklet. A must for Tolkien and Disney Collectors. NO Cutouts, Promo markings or Barcode!

CONDITION

The Unipak Gatefold Sleeve is in good shape. There is basic shelf wear and corner softening. There is a crease in the lower right corner. The middle portion of the book is detached from the cover. The book is otherwise very nice. Still very solid with no writing, splits, stains, tears, cutouts, etc. and I would rate it as VG . The Vinyl is in clean Glossy condition looking pretty lightly played. If you look closely you can spot some light scuffs and faint hairlines. Plays very nicely all through with just some spots of light groove noise here and there and and an occasional soft tic. I’m calling it VG to account for the slight flaws but mostly plays VG+ or better and might be further improved with a better cleaning than I can give with my Discwasher brush. The Labels show a couple light spindle trails but are otherwise Near Mint.

TERMS AND DEFINITIONS

Records are graded to the best of my ability to Goldmine Visual standards. If you are not familiar with this grading system (or even if you think you are!), please check it out before bidding I have summarized the important (i.e. I think everyone knows what Mint means) points below in Goldmine's words:
Very Good Plus (VG+): Record surfaces may show some slight signs of wear and may have slight scuffs or very light scratches that don't affect one's listening experience. Slight warps that do not affect the sound are OK.
Very Good (VG): Surface noise will be evident upon playing,... Groove wear will start to be noticeable, as will light scratches (deep enough to feel with a fingernail) that will affect the sound.
I stand by my grades but would like us to be on the same page so no problems arise. I have been selling Vintage Vinyl for over twenty years on the net and I can count the returns I've had on one hand so I believe my grading is fair and accurate. One important note, I try to grade to these Goldmine guides as best as I can understand and apply them. This gives us both a written standard to go by rather than having to guess. But.... it also means that I don't issue refunds over differences of opinion in grading i.e. "That's not MY idea of a VG record!" - I don't know what your standards are and, as such, can't grade to them. I guarantee that items I sell will meet my description, nothing more or less! If you are not satisfied that a purchase meets my description, I will do what I can to make it right if you give me the chance and work with me! Please feel free to check my feedback.
