DESCRIPTION

Van Halen - “5150” Warner Bros. Records W1 25394 (Stereo) from 1986. Hard to find Original CRC Columbia Record Club Pressing of the Classic Heavy Metal / Hard Rock album from Van Halen featuring Edward and Alex Van Halen, Michael Anthony and Sammy Hagar. In the Original Shrink Wrap with no Cutouts, Promo markings or Barcode. This CRC Club version has a different Catalog Number the regular issues and is marked on the back with “Manufactured by Columbia House Under License”.

CONDITION

The Sleeve is in its Original Shrink Wrap and in great shape. There is some fairly slight corner softening / dinging but is otherwise pretty much perfect. Super solid with no writing, cutouts, splits, stains, tears, etc. and would rate as at least EX and probably Near Mint. One caveat - the shrink has been taped to the cover around the opening edge to keep it in place as a permanent cover, I think you could remove it if you want but can’t be sure. The Vinyl itself is in clean Glossy condition looking lightly played. If you look closely you can spot a few slight scuffs and one or two faint hairlines. Plays pretty much perfectly Near Mint all through. I am calling it EX to account for the very slight visual flaws but plays better. The labels are Near Mint. The Inner Sleeve shows some slight ring impression, wrinkling and a 2” part split on one side but is still at least VG+.

TERMS AND DEFINITIONS

Records are graded to the best of my ability to Goldmine Visual standards. If you are not familiar with this grading system (or even if you think you are!), please check it out before bidding I have summarized the important (i.e. I think everyone knows what Mint means) points below in Goldmine's words:
Very Good Plus (VG+): Record surfaces may show some slight signs of wear and may have slight scuffs or very light scratches that don't affect one's listening experience. Slight warps that do not affect the sound are OK.
Very Good (VG): Surface noise will be evident upon playing,... Groove wear will start to be noticeable, as will light scratches (deep enough to feel with a fingernail) that will affect the sound.
I stand by my grades but would like us to be on the same page so no problems arise. I have been selling Vintage Vinyl for over twenty years on the net and I can count the returns I've had on one hand so I believe my grading is fair and accurate. One important note, I try to grade to these Goldmine guides as best as I can understand and apply them. This gives us both a written standard to go by rather than having to guess. But.... it also means that I don't issue refunds over differences of opinion in grading i.e. "That's not MY idea of a VG record!" - I don't know what your standards are and, as such, can't grade to them. I guarantee that items I sell will meet my description, nothing more or less!
