ABOUT THE RECORD The music of Teenage Dream is derived from a wide variety of pop and rock genres, while heavily incorporating different musical styles not heard on her previous releases. The lyrical content of the album mainly focuses of the ups and downs of teenage love. Teenage Dream and its singles have received multiple awards and nominations at the 53rd and 54th Grammy Awards. In the United States, Teenage Dream debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200, selling 192,000 copies in its first week. It was later certified two times platinum by the RIAA. Five of the albums singles - California Gurls, Teenage Dream, Firework, E.T., Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.) - went on to reach #1 on the US Billboard Hot 100. The other single, The One That Got Away peaked at #3. The album is only the second album in history to have five number ones from one album (after Michael Jackson's Bad) to do so.
