Shame's Drunk Tank Pink confounded many fans, so different was it from his 2018 record Songs Of Praise. That was all big post punk energy and riotous sounds and this one was much more about musical exploration and twitching anxiety. The South London artist bared on all the record to make for an honest, deep, unflinching record with grand lyrical themes and nervous, jerking guitars. Shades of Berlin era Bowie, downbeat mooching and soul stirring musical climaxes all colour the record which elevated the man behind it - and those who listen - to a new level.
