SCULPTURE

PLASTIC INFINITE / SLOT HUM

TAPEBOX TB 1001

2014

Click and listen to our lo-fi soundclip / mp3 of both sides

Next level, UK electronica with animated picture disc. Sculpture are a duo (Dan Hayhurst - sound and Reuben Sutherland - visual artist). If Fela Kuti & Africa 70 were a computer program, their afro beat music would sound like "Plastic Infinite" (our favourite :) but others prefer the equally alien "Slot Hum" on sideB with all its bugged-out tropical percussion and backward robotic bleeps and squelches. Shine a 25fps strobe on the disc while playing or view through an equivalent video camera setting and it amazingly becomes alive with a neon bright, psychedelic moving picture show of morphing abstract shapes. Just search plastic infinite on vimeo to see a video ;) Futuristic improv with tape loops and devices meets Alice In Wonderland 'down the rabbit hole' acid trip visuals. Great for DJs. Obvious, crossover appeal to Musique Concrete collectors too. Disc cut loud with big production sound. Our copy is the 1st pressing from 2014 and comes with see-thru plastic sleeve

Our record grading: SEALED / M- / VG++ / VG+ / VG
RECORD - shiny and closer to M- regardless of a faint small (near invisible) scuff to sideA / some machine generated lines to spindle area but probably how item was originally pressed / disc cut loud with big production sound / some natural light background noises / a few soft ticks to intros
SLEEVE - original transparent plastic sleeve is closer to M- with minimal light wear / just some creasing from storage

LABEL - no label as such as it's a picture disc but release label info around outer edge of sideB

After a 2 year gap, Pourquoi Moi Vintage is back :)
