ABOUT THE RECORD Collector's Series, by Willie Nelson, includes some of his most famous songs that were hits for other artists. Night Life, was a gigantic hit for Ray Price. Funny How Time Slips Away, was written for Billy Walker, and Willie notes is his most financially successful song, having been recorded over 100 times by other artists. There are certain qualities in Willie Nelson's music that were present even in his formative years. Even back then he had a style all his own – that jazzy, blues-tinged lyrical phrasing and unique vocal tone which flies like an arrow into the listener's heart. Whether he's singing one of his own compositions like One in a Row, or the Harlan Howard gem, Heartaches by the Number, Willie is still Willie. Some things are best left unchanged.
