1980 KISS COIN ONLY EVER AVAILABLE IN AUSTRALIA
Distributed by Bailey Mint Australia for Aucoin in 1980. 3 different designs (variants) were made because they were originally designed to feature Peter's face before he was replaced by Eric. The 1st coin is the rarest and has Peter's face over-stamped with Eric's original 'big bird' make-up, the 2nd is the next rarest and has the 'big bird' make-up struck from a newly created die and the 3rd is the most common one featuring the 'fox' make-up.
All 3 coins measure 38mm in diameter. The 1st variant is slightly thicker than the 2nd and 3rd.
This coin is the 3rd variant with the 'fox' make-up.
